Our field study demonstrated that the Finches Favorite mix was preferred by the small seed eating birds over pure Nyjer seed. The combination of fine sunflower chips, millet, and Nyjer seeds will fit through most finch feeders and is typically less expensive than pure Nyjer seed. The photograph below demonstrates the birds preference for Finches Favorite (right side) over pure Nyjer seed (left side).  Both feeders are identical and the picture was taken approximately 24 hours after they were filled.
